Under the gaze of sporting history Sunday evening, Novak Djokovic defeated Casper Ruud 7-6, 6-3, 7-5 to win a record-breaking 23rd grand slam title in men's singles and his third Roland Garros title. Djokovic is the only man to win each major three times in singles. On Saturday, #1 seed Iga Swiatek won her third Roland Garros in four years, overcoming a mid-match stumble to edge Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.
My former co-worker and current tennis junkie Tami joins me to discuss Djokovic's legacy, including his mid-career transformation on the court, his ability to re-engineer his head-to-head against Nadal and Federer, why fans don't like him as much as the other two guys, why she personally supports him, and the prospects of anybody in 2023 being able to realistically challenge him at the remaining two major tournaments.

2-time Percussion Independent World Finalist Nate Davis joins me as we react to the 2023 WGI Percussion World Championships from Dayton, OH, where Pulse Percussion's dominance of the indoor activity continued, as they won a league-leading 5th championship since 2010.
Nate and I discuss the 2023 performances of the top contenders, address the state of the marching arts as a whole, and briefly touch upon our experiences with WGI, including its value in the quote-unquote "standard" workplace.

Petra Kvitova won her first 1000-tier tournament in half a decade Saturday afternoon in Miami, outdueling the red hot Elena Rybakina 7-6(14), 6-2 in a fantastic final. With 2 majors and 9 masters titles over an 11-year span, Kvitova is a no-doubt hall of famer. Elena Rybakina will be fine; dominant players lose matches all the time.
I was gonna go with a "Czech" pun for the title but it felt too lazy. I've been on a Legend of Zelda binge recently and I talk about Kvitova's courage a bit on a podcast, and it's a better title than the Czech pun I had, so, "Triforce of Courage" it is. I suppose she needed all three to win, eh? Power, Courage, and Wisdom.
